The council will represent the laundry and drycleaning industries’ views and both Wilson and Shonfeld will serve for in a transitional capacity for the first year.

Wilson said that he was delighted to be the chair of this newly formed council and to be working more closely with Skillset, the sector skills council for the creative industries.

Shonfeld said that the laundry and drycleaning industry has benefited from a shake-up in training and qualifications, which has had a positive impact on businesses and employees. He added that the industries faced the challenges of an aging workforce and a rapidly changing environmental agenda and must be responsive to these problems.Working with Skillset offers the industries a strong platform to channel skills.
