In a ruling on 26 March 2010, the judge found that Modesto’s redevelopment agency failed to prove that Streets published improper perc disposal instructions or that the company’s representatives discharged perc at the relevant drycleaning sites.

R R Streets was one of several companies, including Dow Chemical Company, PPG industries and others, which were sued by Modesto and its redevelopment agency, which claimed that the companies had improperly distributed perc that allegedly contaminated soil and underground water.

The March judgement confirms earlier favourable rulings for R R Street and a take-nothing verdict that exonerated the company.

“R.R. Street has always worked with the highest safety standards,” said John Thomas, a partner in Hicks Thomas and lead counsel for Streets. “We are pleased Judge Goldsmith carefully reviewed the facts in this case and found no wrongdoing by our client.”
