More than 2.5 million people regularly work with solvents in the UK, and to advise them of the precautions they should sensibly take, the Health and Safety Executive has published a revised free leaflet, Solvents and You, drawing attention to the simple steps which can be taken to reduce inhalation of solvent vapours and dermal exposure to solvents.
The new leaflet, available from HSE Books, also outlines employers’ responsibilities to prevent or control exposure to solvents under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1994.
