Jesse Healthcare Linen Services in Shanghai is the first laundry service in the People’s Republic of China to be awarded the RAL Quality Certification Mark 992 for Professional Textile Services (RAL-GZ 992).
The company was China’s first supplier of specialised laundry and linen services to the medical sector and is still a leader in this market. It serves 64 hospitals in Shanghai with linen for both staff and patients and handles around 40tons/day. It has installed RFID to track and trace linen and has optimised its laundry processes to ensure strict hygiene for staff and patients.
Andreas Schmidt, of the Hohenstein Institute in Bönnigheim, Germany, presented the RAL certificate to Zheng Yongxiang, director of Jesse Healthcare Linen Services and his team.
The Quality Certification Mark is awarded by the German Certification Association for Professional Textile Services to companies that meet its strict hygiene and technology requirements. Experts from the Hohenstein Institute make regular on-site checks on the laundry’s compliance and these include checks while the laundry is in operation.
