Reg Toscani, who died in the spring of this year aged 74, was a launderette owner since 1965 and a founder member of the London Owners Launderette Association.

In 1967, he “teamed up” with Joe Wayne, who is currently responsible for monitoring health and safety matters on behalf of NALI, to build up a group of launderettes based around Harrow, Middlesex.

Mr Toscani retired in 1991 but remained on his company’s board of directors until its sale in 1998.
