The course features projects such as optimising machine productivity and minimising operating costs. Dr Neale reports that the delegates really got to grips with today’s problems in managing a prison laundry.

Archie Kerr, industries manager at Saughton Prison organised the course for the Scottish Prison Service and plans to repeat it in May/June for those unable to attend.

  At the end of the course, David Croft, governor at HMP Edinburgh, which hosted the training, presented candidates with their certificates.
