This January, the existing guidelines of the OEKO-TEX product portfolio have been updated. The new regulations come into effect on 01 April 2018 for all certification systems and other services, following a three-month transition period. The association will present the product regulations in detail to interested companies during a webinar on 30 January 2018 at 12 noon (EST). Participation is free.
Founded in 1992, the International Oeko-Tex Association has grown to 18 member textile testing and research institutes.
With the focus on the umbrella Oeko-Tex logo and the marketing slogan “Confidence in Textiles”, the objective is to strengthen Oeko-Tex as a full-service provider for independent certifications and services for greater sustainability along the textile value-creation chain.
The current Oeko-Tex portfolio consists of certifications and services for manufacturers, brands and retailers along the textile supply chain. Changes will relate to the Detox To Zero assessment tool, the Eco Passport certification for textile chemicals, the Leather Standard, the Made In Green product label, the Standard 100 and the STeP certification. Details can be found at the Oeko-Tex Association website.
