LCN has learned with sadness of the death of Farzana Patel, who joined the LCN team in September 2017 as classified sales executive over the titles and website.

Farzana passed away unexpectedly on 25 September. Although she had been ill for several months, she had responded to treatment and her colleagues were looking forward to her return to the LCN offices this month.

In her role as classified sales executive, Farzana had built up a close rapport with many of our readers and customers, was a popular face at the LCN Awards and won many friends across the industry with her infectious good humour.

“Farzana very quickly made herself a valuable member of the LCN team and we are devastated that she has left us. Full of ideas and enthusiasm, she was loyal, determined and fun to be around.  We will miss her.”

Chris Milton, publishing director

“Not only was Farzana very good at her job and a fast learner, easily making the switch from retail sales to print and online media at LCN, she was also a good friend as well as a valued colleague. Her good humour and eternal optimism, even during her illness, characterised her positive approach to life.”

Kathy Bowry, LCN editor

Farzana leaves two sons, Sameer and Arun. The entire team sends our best wishes and deepest sympathy to her family at this sad and difficult time.
