It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill Cook, formerly of A W Bent, who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, 10 June following a lengthy and courageous battle with illness.

Steve Salt, general manager at AWB Textiles paid tribute, saying: “Bill was a huge supporter and advocate of the Society of Hospital Laundry and Linen Service Managers and made many lasting friendships across the whole country during his near 40 years in the industry.

“He was a great character, a man of honesty and integrity who`ll be missed by us all here at AWB Textiles and many that knew him across the UK`s hospital textile world. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his wife Elaine and his family at this difficult time.”

AWB Textiles has supplied the needs of the UK’s healthcare linen sector for more 70 years and has been owned and run by the Cook family since 1946. The healthcare ranges cover scrub suits, patient gowns and associated linen items, expanding into premium scrub suit brands such as Dickies and Cherokee for hospital departments
