US-based Maytag has formed an alliance with e-Vend, a company pioneering embedded connectivity solutions that enable network servers to monitor and control appliances and vending machines via the Internet.
Maytag’s Commercial Solutions group includes Maytag commercial laundry appliances, Hoover commercial floorcare products and Blodgett and Jade foodservice equipment.
Maytag’s chairman CEO Lloyd D. Ward said “Maytag’s growth strategy is based on developing innovative products and services that provide meaningful solutions for consumers and commercial customers. One major aspect of Maytag’s Internet strategy is to develop and market smart appliances with ubiquitous connectivity. These could include products that can think so you don’t have to, and products that tap the power of the Internet and can be connected to each other, to service providers, and to the wealth of information available online.”
