Klopman, a global leader in the production of high-performance fabrics for workwear, protective wear, and casual apparel, has announced it has reached a major milestone in its commitment to sustainability. Now, 100% of the energy used in all Klopman production processes will be derived exclusively from hydroelectric sources. The company is carrying out LCA – Lyfecycle Assessments on all its fabrics and the introduction of this major implementation will bring a benefit between 6% and 8% in the products’ Carbon Footprint (depending on the fabric).

In addition to this achievement, Klopman has recently installed an advanced electrofiltration system in its facility, which allows the recovery of thermal energy and efficient filtration of air emissions. This innovative solution is expected to reduce the company’s overall emissions by approximately 8%, further demonstrating Klopman’s dedication to minimising its environmental footprint. With the new electrofilter, Klopman not only recovers thermal energy to optimise energy efficiency but also ensures cleaner air emissions, further contributing to environmental preservation and aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.

“At Klopman, sustainability is a core value that drives our actions and investments. Switching to 100% renewable hydroelectric energy and implementing cutting-edge technologies, like the electrofilter, are essential steps in our mission to protect the environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality,” said Giuseppe Crippa, CEO of Klopman. “These initiatives underscore our determination to make our production processes cleaner, more efficient, and increasingly sustainable.”

The adoption of hydroelectric energy and the installation of the electrofilter are key components of Klopman’s broader sustainability strategy. This strategy focuses on reducing waste, recycling resources, lowering emissions, and innovating with eco-friendly materials and technologies.
