Jack Pennell joined the Johnson Group in 1979 when the business was acquired from J. Lyons. He retired in 1982 and was succeeded by Dennis Hargreaves.
Jack was the Master of the Worshipful Company of Launderers in 1984/85, and President of the British Textile Rental Association (BTRA), one of the predecessors to the Textile Services Association (TSA), in 1977/78.
He also served on the committee of the Whitsters Club for many years.
