The video A Clean Bill of Health, which will be launched at the Guild/TSA conference (April 13), describes the processes in a typical drycleaners, points out the hazards and gives guidance on controlling them.

It starts with a shop manager giving a trainee a guided tour of a typical drycleaning unit and includes animated sequences showing how the drycleaning machine works.

An engineer then explains the checks necessary to prevent leaks of the drycleaning solvent and the video closes with an inspection.

Steven Kaye of the Health and Safety Executive who will present the video at the conference said its purpose was to set an agenda for the industry.

Guild president Mike Clarke, said it gave “a helpful and user-friendly overview of health and safety in drycleaning.”
