Harrison is the current chairman of the Northern Centre GCL and was appointed Deputy Master of the College of Fellows in 1998 and Master in 2005.
In his inaugural address, Harrison paid tribute to the outgoing president for the large amount of work she had undertaken during her two-year tenure.
“I am very excited about taking on this very momentous role, in addition to that of the Master,” he said. The Guild is a technical and professional society whose aim is to further knowledge and skill in all branches of the industry, and he added: “It will be a huge responsibility to honour and represent this independent organisation.”
