Girbau has launched a new water extraction press, the PRT60, which, says the company, redefines efficiency and performance standards in the industry. This advanced machine reduces pressing time, optimises energy and water consumption, and offers significant productivity benefits, according to Girbau.
The PRT60 features a turbo cycle that completes pressing in just 60 seconds, cutting cycle time by 30 seconds compared to conventional presses. This increased speed allows for up to a 33% boost in production.
Girbau’s new solution offers versatility: operators can choose between a quick 60-second cycle, combined with a 30-second press time, to maximise production or maintain a standard 120-second cycle and increase the pressing time 30 extra seconds. The additional pressing time extracts more water from fabrics, reducing drying time and saving over 2.5 kWh per batch of laundry.
This dual option enables industrial laundries to decide whether to prioritise increased productivity or focus on maximising energy savings, depending on their operational priorities. Furthermore, the PRT60 also recovers the extracted water for reuse, further enhancing process efficiency.
Exceptional fabric care with flexible pressing
Reliability is another key feature of the PRT60. Weighing up to 14 tonnes in operation, it incorporates a drainage belt for efficient fabric evacuation. Moreover, its compact and enclosed design offers a high level of safety, reducing the risk of workplace accidents. It is equipped with a PLC safety system, providing additional protection.
In addition, its glass doors allow operators to monitor the pressing process without halting production, facilitating continuous monitoring and quality control. The inclusion of a touchscreen with interactive icons simplifies programming and operation, making it intuitive and accessible, even for users with no prior experience. This market-leading interface ensures that the PRT60 is user-friendly.
Thus, the PRT60 offers a superior alternative to traditional centrifuges, which require longer cycles and consume more energy. Moreover, its ability to integrate with tunnels from other manufacturers makes it a versatile and compatible option for various industrial laundry configurations.
