Scottish-based laundry specialist Fishers is providing a full laundry service free of charge to the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
From February the laundry and textile rental business is supplying and laundering all guest room bed linen for the Rachel House Hospice in Kinross. Later in the year, Fishers plans to extend the service to the charity’s Robin House.
Additionally, the company has named CHAS as its corporate charity for 2015 and plans to hold various fundraising and volunteering projects.
Michael Jones, Fishers MD, said that the offer of a free laundry service would allow staff to spend more time with children and their families.
"We’re pleased to partner with this very worthwhile charity and it’s my hope that the Scottish business sector will respond enthusiastically to this fresh charitable model."
Jane McFarlane, Clinical Nurse Manager at CHAS, said: "It will be a huge help towards the running costs of the laundry – one of our busiest departments, which is in use 24/7 looking after towels, clothes and bedding."
