The Association’s staff were made redundant when the decision to close the doors was taken by the board on 18 January.

FCRA former md Chris Tebbs told LCN that the closure was due to a particular debt related to the pension fund and the latest actuarial information which placed a debt on the company that that it could not meet in Government timescales.”

Accountants, Hazlewoods of Windsor House, Barnett Way, Barnwood Gloucester (Tel: 01452 634800), is assisting the directors. Meetings have been arranged for 12 January, at the Jarvis Hotel Nottingham. The members meeting will start at 10.30am and the creditors’ meeting at 12.00.

All garments already received for analysis have been returned and those arriving after the closure will be redirected to Hazlewoods who will arrange for their return. The company will also contact those booked on future courses. Members due to attend courses this week have been advised verbally and those booked on future courses will be advised.

At the TSA Chief executive Murray Simpson said he was deeply saddened at the demise of an association that had played such a valuable role. He added that the TSA would be offering a free advice service to current FCRA members.
