First time abseiler, Duval’s Peter Crane made a challenging forward descent at a recent charity event. A forward descent is usually attempted only by experienced abseilers. Mr Crane, who was then Master of the Worshipful Company of Launderers told his sponsors that he would take the risks if they would double the stakes. As a result he raised £2410 for his Master’s charity, the Willow Foundation, which supports terminally-ill young adults.

Mr Crane was accompanied on this difficult descent by Emily Orford, daughter of Richard Orford of the Blue Dragon Laundry.

A more experienced abseiler, Selwyn Burchardt, who also went down forward, raised £856 so in total the Livery company raised over £3260.

The whole event, organised by Brian Harrison Master of the Fuellers took place in June at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.
