DuPont’s Cordura fabrics are made from nylon yarn and are designed for heavy duty workwear applications. In tests conducted by DuPont, the long-lasting fabric has show superior resistance to abrasion, pilling and scuffing. It has also been proven to outlast polyester-cotton.

Claimed to be lightweight, comfortable and easy-care, the fabrics are available in a range of colours which are designed with in-built resistance to industrial laundry processing thanks to a novel dyeing technology developed jointly by DuPont, Seafield and Dystar, which allows the fabrics to be engineered for high colour fastness.

Cordura fabrics can be washed at 85°C, says DuPont.

Its extended dyeing method provides optimal wash fastness. Shrinkage is said to be less than 3% The fabric conforms to Oeko-Tex standard 100 issued by the Swedish Institute for Fibre and Polymer Research for coated and/or impregnated fabrics for sports, leisure, workwear and children’s garments.
