Richard Neale of the Laundry Technology Centre advises working on an average of 450g per piece. This is slightly heavier than the average five years ago, 410g, but hotels are now using heavier towels and also sending in more king-size sheets.
Converting a piece rate to weight
LCN recently received an enquiry from a reader who had been given a specification from a prospective hotel customer in pieces per hour and needed to convert this rate to weight/hour.
