Laundries often struggle to meet throughput goals, especially when laundry-production space is tight, according to Joel Jorgensen, Continental Girbau (Continental) vice president of sales. “That’s why Continental developed the Compact Laundry Solution. It’s a space-saving equipment combination that delivers 21% more wash/dry/fold production per square foot when compared with other equipment offerings on the market,” he said.

The Compact Laundry Solution includes the latest E-Series 80-pound capacity washer-extractor, the new 85/95-pound capacity CG85/95 Dryer and, when automation is cost-justified, the Compact 5-in-One feeder/ironer/folder/stacker/accumulator.

From its small footprint, the Compact Laundry Solution outputs considerably more productivity using less labour and energy than most other solutions occupying a larger footprint. Additionally, freestanding washer designs make for simple installation, allowing washer-to-washer or washer-to-dryer installation clearances of just a half an inch. This means washers and dryers are more closely located, when compared to most hard-mount equipment, which requires up to 18 inches of clearance.

The system also allows laundries to step into the automated feeding, ironing and folding of flat goods coming straight from the washer, eliminating drying altogether.

The new size category and minimal footprint of both the washer and dryer combine with the Compact 5-in-One for unrivalled quality and greater production per operator hour (PPOH), says Jorgenson. “Even smaller laundries, processing from 190-260 laundry pounds per hour, can cost-justify automation and realize a quick return on investment,” said Jorgensen.
