Cinet, the European textile care association, will hold a conference on 4 September in Cologne to discuss developments in preventing and correcting soil contamination.

The event, which is free of charge for Cinet members but also open to others, will look at the subject from an international view.

The program will include an update on volatile organic compounds by the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and an explanation of environmental measures in drycleaning by TKT, the Dutch research organisation for textile care, which will also discuss sustainable solvents and wetcleaning.

There will also be discussions on soil remediation methods being used in the Netherlands, Belgium and the USA.
