A recent trip to the Kannegiesser factory at Sarstedt has reinforced Christeyns’ belief in the value of regular communication with other suppliers as part of internal staff training.

The event took place during a European sales conference and over 50 technical field staff visited the factory to see the the PowerTrans tunnel washers being made.

The trip included a tour of the production areas with a detailed explanation of the manufacturing process. The Christeyns staff could see the material used and the design of the inner drum, giving them a better understanding of the machine.

Computer presentations, complemented by the transparent machine model seen at several exhibitions, followed and over lunch staff had the opportunity to ask questions about the machine technology.

Charlie Betteridge, European marketing director, stressed the value of such visits which have always been part of Christeyns’ philosophy.

“By discussing the particular requirements and characteristics of new textiles and the parameters available with various washing machines, we can then share our knowledge of the washing chemistry to ensure the optimum wash processes are put in place and thus avoid a lot of problems before they happen.”
