Christeyns’ northern region technical manager, Tom Quinton, is retiring from the business at the end of the year after 25 years’ service. Joe Pearson has been appointed to take over the role. Quinton came from a laundry background when he started at Christeyns 25 years ago, taking on the role of account manager. For much of this time he has looked after the whole of Scotland, driving hundreds of miles to assist customers in the more remote areas, working alongside his friend and boss John Richardson, who retired last Christmas.
He will be missed by customers and colleagues alike and as a keen golfer is looking forward to getting out on the course a lot more.
Pearson, moves north from the Midlands team and will be based in Newcastle effective from October. Pearson joined Christeyns in 2017 as an apprentice and proved himself to be a rising star, excelling as part of the field sales team with a natural aptitude for the technical aspects of the job and excellent communication skills.
Christeyns also welcomes its newest account team member, Tom Summerfield, who will take up Pearson’s vacant role. With qualifications in engineering, maintenance, electrical, and boiler and steam systems, Summerfield brings a strong complementary skillset to his new role as Technical Services Account Manager, further strengthening the Midlands team.
He also brings industry knowledge to the role, having covered various laundry engineering functions over the past five years. For the next six months he will focus on the technical aspects of his new role, specifically the company's latest dosing equipment range and the application of its various advanced washing technology products, like Cool Chemistry, Puresan and Epic.
Operations Director Justin Kerslake commented on the team changes, saying: “We wish Tom Quinton all the very best in his retirement and are grateful for his long and dedicated service. I have however no doubt that the region will be in capable hands with Joe and our new recruit, Tom, will be a strong addition to the CUK regional management team structure.”
