John Vareldzis, managing director of Carrington Textiles (pictured), has joined the European Textile Services Association’s (ETSA) Board of Directors. This follows the association’s decision to broaden its industry representation across the supply chain and invite Carrington to join as the board’s only textile manufacturer.

In joining ETSA’s Board of Directors, John will sit alongside senior textile service executives, including Juha Laurio, CEO of textile service company, Lindström, and Peter Egan, CEO of Johnson Service Group.

Representing the textile services industry for over 20 years, the European Textile Services Association provides a platform for the industry leaders to share best practice. As a key supplier to the majority of the industrial laundry groups represented on the board, Carrington is looking forward to strengthening its relationships and sharing key insights around the industry’s changing requirements, which includes tackling micro-plastics, energy use and water consumption.

“This invitation is recognition of our organisation's growing global status,” said John Vareldzis. “I’m thrilled to have been invited onto this board and look forward to working alongside this team of thought-provoking and innovative industry leaders.”

Robert Long, secretary general at ETSA said: “The ETSA board brings together CEO’s from Europe’s leading textile service companies, as well as top supplier firms. We look forward to hearing John’s views, from a textile manufacturing perspective as we believe in a full value chain approach.”
