Aramark decided to invest in a local laundry in order to reduce its fleet vehicles’ mileage and fuel consumption. The company estimates that it will be able to cut fuel consumption by 32,000 gallons a year.
The plant has a re-usable water system reducing daily clean water consumption by 15% to 30% and Aramark predicts that it will save between 1.5m and 3m gallons of water each year.
The plant also has a heat recovery system that recovers and re-uses the heat from the wastewater, reducing the plant’s gas use by 25%.
