The Worshipful Company of Launderers (WCL)is pleased to take applications for next year’s Travelling Scholarships. The visits to laundry operations will be in the United Kingdom and will take place over three days –7, 8, 9 February 2023.
The scholarship grant is available to all members of the laundry and cleaning industry and helps with hotel accommodation, travel and associated expenses.
This annual event has been well received over the years and those attending have benefited from both the visits and the networking provided.
This year the Scholars will be visiting a number of laundry facilities in the north of England where the successful applicants will be shown the latest innovative systems.
Education has always been an integral part of the Livery movement and this is reflected within the WCL. A committee dedicated to education has historically and continually supported industry training courses through the consideration of course completion grants to delegates.
In addition to this, the Launderers’ well-established Travelling Scholarship scheme affords up-and-coming members of the industry the opportunity to visit industry locations within the UK and Europe to develop their industry knowledge and skills base.
Applicants should work within the textile care industry and be supported by their employer.
