In-built sustainability right through the whole procurement process proves a valuabe investment for Tonrose

Catherine Morris, managing director, Tradelinens tells LCN: “Covid-19 has impacted every aspect of business operations within our industry, but the pandemic has made very clear sustainability is central for business resilience. We integrated sustainability and transparency into the business operations prior to the pandemic, having been the first linen company to join the BCI back in 2016, the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme.

“In response to customer demand and our conscience we launched the Tielle FeelGood range in 2021. Crafted from recycled European feather and down, the high-quality fills in this eco-friendly duvet and pillow combo have been repurposed to create sustainable bedding that doesn’t compromise on comfort.

“Adding to its eco credentials are a 233-thread count casing that is double stitched and down-proof to increase its lifespan and avoid pesky fibres from poking out. Traceable to the point of collection, the regenerated nature of this premium 100% cotton bedding ticks another eco box by generating a lower carbon footprint when compared to the production of traditional natural fills. All FeelGood pillows and duvets also come beautifully packaged in reusable bags ideal for storing bedding and clothes.

“All of the bedlinen we supply to five-star hotels around the world is 100% cotton because it offers a significantly better sleep experience than synthetic products, which are more popular with mid-range hotels or those of a more price sensitive nature,” says Morris.

“As we emerge from the COVID-19 crisis it will be more important than ever to continue our journey towards a more sustainable future.”
