ImageFIRST acquires United Linen & Uniform Services

ImageFIRST, the largest national provider of linen and laundry services specialising in the healthcare industry, announced today that it acquired Bartlesville, Oklahoma-based United Linen & Uniform Services. This acquisition marks ImageFIRST’s first locations in both Oklahoma and Arkansas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Aramark to cast off uniforms in publicly traded spin-off

A report published by TRSA, the North America linen rental trade association, in a recent newsletter reveals that plans are afoot to separate Aramark Uniform Services (AUS) into an independent, publicly traded company. The structure of the transaction is intended to be a spin-off that is tax-free to Aramark and its stockholders. The company currently expects the spin-off to occur by the end of fiscal 2023, according to a news release.
CLEAN suffers fire at Ross-on-Wye site

The CLEAN Laundry at Ross-on-Wye last week suffered a devastating fire in the early hours of 2 May. The fire broke out at the laundry in Netherton Road. Firstly, and most importantly, said the company, nobody was injured in the fire, and it was extinguished by the Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, helped by crews from the South Wales fire authorities.

Laundryheap has cemented its position as market leader with acquisition of rival Laundrapp business. Laundryheap, the UK’s largest on-demand laundry and drycleaning service, has today announced that it has acquired competitor Laundrapp from Inc Retail. The deal, the terms of which remain undisclosed, follows a steady expansion of Laundryheap’s market footprint since it was founded in 2014.

Christeyns eases driver shortage and expands HGV fleet

Bradford-based hygiene chemical specialist Christeyns has added HGV driving qualifications to its apprenticeship scheme in order to provide a solution for the current driver shortage. Two new apprentices, Tom Grundell and Danny Clark, commenced their apprenticeships in September last year and following 18 months of training and immersion in the business, will be out on the road delivering chemicals for use in the industrial laundry and construction sectors.

Lindsay Sanders, with 15 years’ experience in her field, joins as the business moves to new 20,000sq feet premises in Barnsley. Prior to joining Wolf Laundry, Lindsay worked for GXO at ASOS, and prior to that held HR roles at TC Facilities Management, Sheffield Forgemasters, and NEXT. Drawing on her wealth of experience, Lindsay will support Wolf Laundry’s five-year growth plan by devising and implementing the HR strategy and people plan.
