It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill Cook, formerly of A W Bent, who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, 10 June following a lengthy and courageous battle with illness.

Carrington Textiles recognised for biodegradable workwear textiles

At the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors (NAUMD) Convention and Exposition held last month in Reston, in the United States, Carrington Textiles was awarded the Innovation Award for its Hawksbill and Orca fabrics, the first on the workwear market to include polyester fibres that biodegrade.

Rinnai is now supplying the world’s first 100% hydrogen combustion for continuous flow hot water heaters. The company has committed significant resources into this new appliance technology and says it has created “a supremely efficient-functioning continuous flow hot water system fuelled by 100% hydrogen”.
TSA invites Scottish laundries to Glasgow for a chat and a drink

The Textile Services Association (TSA) is in Glasgow next week hosting its first Roadshow. The Association is looking forward to welcoming professional laundry operators from across Scotland to the event which is free of charge. “We urge everyone to come along, have a drink on us, and encourage colleagues in the industry to join in too,” said David Stevens, CEO of the TSA. “It’s a chance to have your say in what really matters.”
ETSA’s Lai details association achievements over past 18 months

Association director general Elena Lai at the recent ETSA Congress in Rome detailed some of ETSA’s proudest moments in the past 18 months, especially its cooperation in its various working groups. The textile services industry is one of many European industries which is looking to improve and innovate itself within the paradigms set by the EU Green Deal and EU Climate Pact and ETSA has been extremely pro-active in this regard, she said. ETSA brings together national associations from around Europe, including the UK.

EPIC waste water saving launch from Christeyns

The Ghent, Belgium, multinational Christeyns, which produces detergents and disinfectants for industrial laundries in Belgium and abroad, is launching EPIC, an innovative detergent system. EPIC stands for Enzymatic Process Innovation by Christeyns and is based on enzyme technology, enabling laundries to reduce their waste water costs by 25%.
