Böwe can be found in Hall 3P – Stand G30 H29 where the company can provide drycleaners with a solution for abolishing the dreaded ‘black-over’ during distillation and from the perc and multisolvent range the latest technology is exhibited in the special Black Forest Edition drycleaning machine completely made in glaspearl blasted stainless steel and cataphoresis coatings.

Change of guard at Christeyns technical team as veteran Quinton retires

Christeyns’ northern region technical manager, Tom Quinton, is retiring from the business at the end of the year after 25 years’ service. Joe Pearson has been appointed to take over the role. Quinton came from a laundry background when he started at Christeyns 25 years ago, taking on the role of account manager. For much of this time he has looked after the whole of Scotland, driving hundreds of miles to assist customers in the more remote areas, working alongside his friend and boss John Richardson, who retired last Christmas.
Kannegiesser ‘in sync’ at EXPODetergo

EXPODetergo puts ‘sustainability, digitalisation and sanitisation’ centre stage
As the doors were readied to swing open on the biggest textile care event Europe has seen since 2018, the organisers of EXPODetergo explained that 250 exhibitors will present solutions and technologies to support laundries in tackling high bills that include:
• A show built around three main goals: sustainability, digitalisation and sanitisation
• Four days of networking and updating, dedicated to a fundamental sector that ensures quality and hygiene in hotels, restaurants, bars, hospitals and operating rooms
• The size of the Italian market: a turnover of 1.7 billion euros and more than 20,000 employees for industrial laundries; 1.3 billion euros and 48,052 employees for artisan laundries.
TSA Road Show parks up in Burton-on-Trent

Laundries grabbed the chance last week to attend the last TSA Road Show this year to find out how the Association can help their businesses. Following the TSA Autumn Conference , TSA hosted its third and final Road Show of 2022 on Thursday 13 October in Burton-On-Trent. This is part of the Association’s ongoing drive to meet more laundries across the industry.
CINET GBPAP Awards finalists due to pitch up at EXPODetergo

EXPODetergo is almost upon us, 21-24 October at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre in Rho, Milan. Along with innovations debuting on the show floor, a highlight of the event is the Cinet GBPAP Awards. There are 46 finalists from 32 countries in the three categories – Industrial Textile Services, Retail Textile Cleaning RTC – SME and RTC. TSA conference paints a realistic portrait of what lies ahead

The Textile Services Association (TSA) Autumn Conference, took place on 5 October, at the Hilton St George’s Park, Burton upon Trent and was opened by Chair Charlie Betteridge whose message was: “It’s a gloomy outlook but we will get through it. David Stevens, TSA CEO, followed up, wryly thanking Betteridge for his “cheerful introduction” and continued with the news that TSA continues to lobby the Government and that thre is evidence that the laundry industry is “in the pot” for emergency relief in the crisis, saying: “We want to be recognised as essential and high energy intensive. We don’t want to be the latter, but we are…”.
Award honours magicians who turn wood into textiles

The 2022 Marcus Wallenberg Prize of 2 million Swedish kroner has been awarded to Professor Ilkka Kilpeläinen and Professor Herbert Sixta for the development and use of novel ionic liquids to process wood biomass into high-performance textile fibres. King Carl XVI Gustaf presented the prize on 11 October in Stockholm.
