TSA Congress gets under way in Southampton on 5 February

The Textile Services Association (TSA) National Congress is ready for business on 5 February at the Harbour Hotel in Southampton. The TSA reports it is its largest ever Congress with more than 33 laundry companies represented.As well as a record number of delegates, the conference also welcomes keynote speaker Harry Redknapp, legendary former professional footballer and Premier League manager as keynote speaker.

A new training course hrganised by the Textile Services Association (TSA) helps the laundry industry to ensure its equipment is safe. The TSA is offering a three-day course on Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) safety inspections. These apply to companies, organisations or sole traders who own, operate or control equipment, or whose employees use it.

Swedish and Danish associations score high in authorisation control project

Setting the highest standards for best practice, the Swedish Textile Services Association (Sveriges Tvätteriförbund)together with Danish colleagues Brancheforeningen for Vask og Tekstiludlejning (BVT), and especially recognising the input of Lasse Rafiq Hangaard, has run a two-year project with a focus on training and development of each country’s authorisation control.

OCS listed number 36 in the top 100 companies to work for in the UK

In a study released by Sky News’ blog, OCS, which provides soft services and laundry services to British Airways, among other major clients, was listed as the 36th best company to work for in the UK and the only facilities management company to be listed in the top 100. The survey carried out by employee development platform Zensai, used feedback provided through Glassdoor to rank companies in order of the best to work for in the UK.

Christeyns celebrates its rich history as part of the Lost Mills of Bradford

Laundry chemicals and solutions provider specialist Christeyns has been working with 509 Arts to look back on the history of its Bradford headquarters and how this has shaped the company’s future. Christeyns purchased the Oil & Soaps Company, and its operations based in Victoria Mills on Rutland Street, in 1998. Oil & Soaps Ltd originally took over the mill in December 1981, but the building has been in existence since the 1800s, one of the many mills across the district at that time. In 1900 there were over 350 mills in Bradford.

Datamars launches its RFID Sorti-Cart system for textile management in retirement homes

Datamars, a global leader in RFID solutions for the textile and industrial laundry sector, has launched its latest innovation, the UHF Sorti-Cart, a custom RFID trolley designed to collect soiled textiles in retirement and nursing homes for the elderly. This patented solution addresses a critical issue in this sector: the loss and misplacement of residents’ personal garments during the laundry process.

PureStar acquires Southern Linen Services

PureStar, Las Vegas, recently announced that it has acquired Southern Linen Services Inc, Long Beach, Mississippi. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. PureStar is the nation’s largest hospitality laundry provider, and has been acquiring businesses to swell its portfolio.

Dibella once again ups purchase of Cotton made in Africa raw fibre

Dibella is once again increasing the use of Cotton made in Africa cotton according to the mass balance system. In 2025, the company will purchase 825 tons of raw fibres. This corresponds to an increase of 10% compared with the previous year. Dibella has been implementing Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) cotton in its supply chain in accordance with the mass balance system since 2017, thereby supporting socially and ecologically sustainable cotton production in Africa. With this further increase, Dibella is fulfilling its corporate goal of “increasing the use of sustainable fibres”.
