Under the premise Positive Impact, the company develops disruptive and innovative industrial laundry solutions linked to circularity, energy efficiency and optimal service to ensure the health and well-being of users and the planet.

With a global approach, Girbau has focused its efforts on ensuring an updated and innovative product catalogue with complementary services to ensure specialised service and excellence for its customers.

Proof of this is that through its commitment to innovation and the offering of sustainable solutions, Girbau has recently presented its new range of GENIUS – ‘Beyond excellence, there’s Genius’ – smart washing machines. Thanks to its programmable spin speeds with a G-factor of 450, this new series is the most efficient and sustainable on the market, reducing energy consumption by up to 15% and features the most advanced connectivity. The series also has a weighing system to optimise the consumption of water and chemical products.

GENIUS offers higher quality standards, with a new Care Plus drum surface, which improves process quality and water extraction. Ready for professional use, this range is also equipped with BLE and wi-fi connectivity, as well as the Sapphire IOT platform, the intelligent software created by the company.

Thanks to its intuitive interface and touch screen, which is the largest on the market, as well as a larger door and its 360° Vision Light Corner, GENIUS takes professional washing to another level.

Thus, this innovative range translates the complexity of laundries into simple, easy and intuitive processes and thanks to this, the user can enjoy a service with greater control and personalisation.

Other new products launched in 2022 that stand out are Girbau’s new range of feeders, equipment created to improve productivity. Firstly, DRE, a versatile piece of equipment that offers precision, speed and quality, and is capable of increasing production per loading station; secondly, the DRC Cornerless feeder, which brings high levels of productivity and quality to laundries, while providing the highest level of safety for operators. This solution gives the possibility of working in two lanes, which increases production by 20%. The operator does not have to find the two corners before inserting the item, which contributes to achieving the highest production levels, thanks also to its high working speed.

In parallel, the company has launched the FTQ towel folder, an adaptable and easy-to-program solution. In addition to this, Girbau has increased its offering in terms of ironing with its 5-in-1 system, Compact Pro, the company’s integral commitment to high standards of quality and productivity. This model provides the opportunity to feed, dry, iron, fold and stack in the same machine. In this way, the company provides a solution to the problems of space or accessibility for laundries working at high production levels.

Likewise, through its desire to contribute to caring for the environment, Girbau has launched its EDD double dryer on the market this year, designed to save energy and space in self-service laundries.

Finally, in 2022 the company has continued its commitment to developing its Sapphire system, the remote management software for laundries, with the launch of Sapphire Payment Kiosk and Sapphire Laundry Payment APP, which allows payments to be managed conveniently and efficiently through a mobile device.

All this solid commitment to innovate in the professional laundry sector in a sustainable way is embodied in Girbau University, the benchmark school for specialized training in professional laundry, promoted by Girbau. With this project, the company reaffirms its commitment to continue adding to the sector through the training and growth of its customers, team and partners, to create an open community with a clear ambition for economic, social and environmental sustainability.

It has been a busy post-pandemic period for Girbau, which has shown sustained growth and a continued commitment to innovation, servitisation and excellence.

“Girbau makes fantastic equipment and the relationship between Girbau and Laundry System makes for a great combo for a super-efficient plant”

Matthew Shadle, laundry project manager, Brightwater Laundry

A new laundry model at Lavandería La Marmota

Girbau, as a leader in integrated professional laundry solutions, has been commissioned to collaborate with Lavandería La Marmota in A Coruña, to implement a new laundry model that combines technology, delivery, self-service and wetcleaning in a single business, with extremely easy management through an APP.

This model has been designed specifically to respond to the problem posed by the establishment: “how best to correctly manage the collection and delivery of clothes at home, in drycleaners and laundries?”.

With this solution, self-service laundries and traditional drycleaners can offer a value-added service to their customers that is also environmentally friendly. Thanks to Girbau tools and services such as its GENIUS washing machines, the most advanced wetcleaning techniques and Sapphire payment and management systems for self-service laundries and drycleaners can continue to move towards a more efficient and sustainable model.

Fernando Bouzón, CEO of La Marmota Laundry says: “Digitalisation opens new business opportunities for the owners and new services and facilities for the users. “From GALSAT, as Girbau’s representatives for Galicia and Asturias, we invite users to try and discover a sustainable and environmentally friendly service that provides a solution to the tedious task of washing at home, and professionals in the sector to come to La Marmota and learn about Girbau’s latest in technology applied to laundry and drycleaning.”

Brightwater Laundry fully automated with Girbau technologies

With the goal of boosting laundry productivity, reducing labour costs and improving end-product quality, Brightwater Laundry in Sevierville, Tennessee, USA has incorporated a massive automation project powered by Girbau solutions. This initiative allows the company to process up to 10 million pounds of customer-owned goods (COG) per year, according to laundry project manager, Matthew Shadle.

In September 2021, the Brightwater Laundry added new machinery from Girbau – a brand it had been using since 2019 – including an 8-module continuous batch tunnel washing system, an additional PC ironing line with DRE automatic feeder and FRB folder with side stacker, plus another FT MAXI auto-sort towel folder.

To accomplish the automation project, Shadle and the laundry team worked closely with Jeff Large and his team at Laundry Systems of Tennessee (Laundry Systems), along with Girbau technology, to achieve a much more automated establishment.

As a result, Brightwater became a more efficient and productive laundry, achieving 2,000 laundry pounds processing per hour, as well as eliminating an entire 8-hour shift that has drastically reduced labour.
