There can be little doubt that the spring padding is one of the most important elements in ensuring excellent ironing machine performance and optimal ironing quality.

With the introduction of ever more powerful and faster ironing machines, roller diameters have become larger and larger.

The resulting mechanical friction and the pressure exercised on the linen and on the bed are so strong that in many cases these spring paddings may get damaged if they are not solid enough to withstand these pressures.

Therefore the ideal spring padding should have the following characteristics:

  • great sturdiness
  • high mechanical resistance against friction
  • great elasticity.

The last is particularly important in order to guarantee that the surface remains the same as the roller’s diameter over time and exercises adequate pressure on the linen for excellent ironing quality.

Vitesse’s Tenax laminar springs are blocked mechanically one by one on the perforated anchorage plate. Thus they do not undergo any shifting or deformation due to high speed ironing or accidental friction caused by incorrect functioning of the ironing machine.

The use of stainless steel in manufacturing the springs is important ensuring they maintain the right condition over their operational lifetime.

This material is not only very elastic, but also retains its elasticity better than ordinary steel, because it is not exposed to the influence of chemical agents or excessive residual humidity which might remain in contact with the spring padding.
