Miele’s Malcolm Martin told LCN: “OPL operators are giving greater consideration to the total package with a focus on operational costs. Energy saving features which contribute to reducing running costs, for example hot air recirculation and automatic moisture sensing, are key elements in today’s market place.” Miele says its popular Little Giants range of laundry equipment has established the benchmark for small commercial machines. Last year saw the company introduce a revised model line-up with improved technical specification.
The matching range of tumble dryers features a host of energy saving features, which includes reverse action drums and electronic sensor controlled drying. The moisture sensing system eliminates operator guesswork, wasted energy and means the precise degree of dampness is retained for ironing.
A company spokesman says: “Although the initial purchase cost of a Miele Little Giant may appear prohibitive compared with the price of an ordinary washing machine, when you realise that it can easily outlast three or maybe four of the latter, and take into account the savings to be made on less frequent repair bills, it soon becomes apparent that in the long-term, buying Miele is the cheaper and smarter option.”
