Thermax Process Heat, a division of ME Engineering, has launched a range of low-cost, highly efficient package shell boilers claimed to be suited to laundries.
The Shellmax CE and Revotherm CE boilers can be fired on light or heavy oil or on gas They have corrugated furnaces which, the company says, are more flexible than plain ones. They therefore suffer less from thermal stress and last longer.
They are generously sized to cope with the rapid fluctuations in steam load and can be fitted with economisers which use waste heat to pre-heat the feedwater, taking the total efficiency up to 95%.
Both the Shellmax and Revotherm boilers have output pressures of 10.54barg and 17.5barg.
The Shellmax is a conventional three-pass wet-back design available in capacities from 1,000kg/hour to 20,000 kg/hour.
The Revotherm is a reverse flame, three-pass unit available with capacities from 500kg/hour to 8,000 kg/hour.
It incorporates spiral gas agitators in the convective tubes which regulate the temperature of the exit gas and create a turbulent flow of flue gases – even during the partial load operation frequently encountered by laundry boilers.
Both boilers have been designed to be easy to install, maintain and operate. Each has built-in unrestricted access to the water side of the boiler.
Forced draught burners are mounted at the front of the boiler with heat-resistant doors which can be opened very quickly.
The Shellmax CE and Revotherm CE boilers are supplied fully insulated with factory-fitted ancillary items.
Pressure components for the boilers are manufactured at the company’s ISO9000 registered production unit in India. They are designed and constructed to BSEN12953 and independently inspected by Lloyds Register.
