Bradford-based hygiene specialist Christeyns UK is proud to announce achievement of the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award as part of the UK’s Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
Last month Justin Kerslake, Lucy Duckworth and Jonny Hammond represented Christeyns at the Yorkshire and Humber Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award 2024 ceremony at York Racecourse where they met with members of the Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy to receive the award and confirm the firm’s commitment to treating all members of the military fairly and respectfully.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that acknowledges and understands that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.
Backed by the Ministry of Defence, the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), encourages organisations to actively support the armed forces community by signing this agreement. The scheme awards Bronze, Silver, and Gold accolades to employers who align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant and champion the welfare, including facilitating employment, for the armed forces community.
“Christeyns are absolutely delighted to receive the ERS Silver Award which recognises our unwavering commitment to the Armed Forces, states Justin Kerslake, operations director. “We have, for some years, employed veterans in our team. This cohort have always proven to be reliable, resilient, resourceful and committed members of our team and deliver the customer support excellence we strive for. We are pleased to be able to deliver long term careers for our ex-forces colleagues and thank them for their previous service to the country.”
The company takes pride in being a family-owned business and operates with a culture that encompasses all, placing care and support for the employee right at the forefront of its strategy and approach. This environment allows ex-military personnel to forge rewarding careers, developing transferable skills and benefiting from opportunities for progression.
