Dave Grimshaw, SHLSM national chair, summing up after last year’s form, said: “2023 was an excellent year for us. We turned a committee of six members into a team of nine, welcoming new members Steve Salt, James Walker and Peter White to the team. A significant amount of work goes on in the background for which each member has input, not least of which is organising the forum and arranging speakers.

“SHLSM, using the breadth and depth of its membership, has been able to offer help and advice to various organisations around the country about their involvement in the laundry business;  from dealing with problems to helping set up systems to advice around product use and supply, the Society has been there,” said Grimshaw

The 2023 meeting also heard that there had been an uptick in membership, especially from laundries. A proposal was raised and passed that bursaries be offered to attract more new members.
