Crown Health Care Laundry Services recertifies five laundries for Hygienically Clean Healthcare with the emphasis on process, third-party validation and outcome-based testing.

Crown Health Care Laundry Services, the Pensacola, Florida-based independent full-service healthcare laundry processor and linen company that has served the south eastern United States for more than sixty years, has recently qualified for renewal of the Hygienically Clean Healthcare certification for their laundries in these locations:  Selma, Alaska; Lakeland and Pensacola in Florida; Quitman, Georgia, and; Bishopville, South Carolina.

The re-certifications reflect their continued commitment to best management practices (BMPs) in laundering as verified by on-site inspection and their capability to produce hygienically clean textiles as quantified by ongoing microbial testing. The organisation’s Columbia, Miss., and Spartanburg, South Carolina locations are also Hygienically Clean Healthcare certified laundries.

The Hygienically Clean Healthcare certification confirms the organization’s continuing dedication to infection prevention, compliance with recognised industry standards and processing healthcare textiles using BMPs as described in its quality assurance documentation, a focal point for Hygienically Clean inspectors’ evaluation. The independent, third-party inspection must also confirm essential evidence that:

• Employees are properly trained and protected

• Managers understand regulatory requirements

• OSHA-compliant

• Physical plant operates effectively

“Congratulations to Crown Health Care Laundry Services on their recertification,” said Joseph Ricci, TRSA president and CEO. “This achievement proves their commitment to infection prevention and that their laundry takes every step possible to prevent human illness.”
