Following on from our story, 17 April*, about hospitality uniform manufacturer Tibard’s Covid-19 induced move to NHS scrubs production, the company has attracted attention from the Wellcome Collection which has featured the company on its website.
Highly engaging photographs of the Tibard workforce by Carmel King accompany the words of Kate Wilkinson of the Wellcome Collection. King photographs makers and manufacturers across the UK, documenting British craft and industry. She is particularly interested in capturing crafts that are dying out, and second- and third-generation businesses. Her own family had a three-generation textile firm in the north of England.

Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library in Euston Road, London, that aims to challenge how we all think and feel about health. Closed at the moment because of Covid-19, the organisation is flourishing online.
