Keeping workers apart on ironing lines and protecting them from infection has been a puzzler in the current pandemic and Leonard Automatics has now come up with a solution.
The company has introduces its Leonard Personnel Protective Barrier (PPB) system in any production setting, it says. It’s simple to assemble – simply bolt the system together.

“Not only is this something that is needed now during this crisis, it will likely become the standard in Leonard production facilities,” said Leonard’s Dan Farnsworth. “We believe the PPB barrier system creates another layer of protection for the operators where traditional PPE may not be available or restrictive in function. This allows you to add another layer of protection with physical barriers. The barrier has the potential to block the transmission of contaminants. Used properly and with other infection control practices such as hand-washing, using alcohol-based hand sanitisers, and covering coughs and sneezes, these barriers can minimize the spread.”
The company says it can supply its PPB system for any application where social distancing is not achievable; tunnel finishing hanging lines, large and small piece folders, soil sort…and so on. The device is patent pending
