Beverley Long, finance and accounts executive of the Textile Service Association, is retiring from the Association after 18 years of service.
Ms Long will officially leave her service on the 21 April 2016.
A valued member of the team for 18 years and has seen a lot of changes in the industry over that time. In 2001, the Association went through some changes and Beverley took on the role of Finance and Administration Executive. She was responsible for accounts, administration of events, membership and the customer complaints – now handled electronically!
"Each day was very varied and most of the time enjoyable, we were a small but close knit team that worked well together with everything getting done on time amongst laughter and a happy atmosphere," she said.
"The highlight of each year would be the National Conferences. They took a lot of organization but it was worth it to see so many people enjoying their stay at the chosen hotel – wherever it may be – and to watch them leave the event with a smile (and sometimes a sore head!) after a great networking experience."
A replacement is in the process of being appointed. The association is also recruiting for a technical services manager. These two new members of staff will report, on a day to day basis, to Gillian Farrar, who is now TSA membership services manager and deputy CEO, with effect from 1 April 2016.
