Berendsen has completed a £2.4million modernisation of its Fakenham laundry in Norfolk. The investment was aimed in particular at its workwear division as the plant was seen as a lynchpin for the regions’s food manufacturing industry, which forms an important part of the East Anglian economy.
Over a two-year period, production, stores and office areas were re-equipped and redesigned to produce an ergonomic and good looking workplace.
To mark the importance of this investment, the laundry was officially opened by HM Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk Richard Jewson Esq, MP, who remarked on the laundry’s continuing success in reducing water use and in achieving environmental efficiencies. He also praised the staff for their efforts in continuing production while the improvements were taking place.
