Bönnigheim in Germany has paid tribute to the Hohenstein Institute’s founder Prof Dr-Ing Otto Mecheels by naming a road after him.
Otto-Mecheels-Strasse leads from the Schlossfeld residential area to the textile testing and research institute at Schloss Hohenstein.
In October, a new building at the Institute was also named the founder.
Bönnigheim’s mayor Kornelius Bamberger, said: "Otto Mecheels’ work is closely linked to his hometown of Bönnigheim. This applies both to his work as an internationally recognised scientist and also as the founder of the Hohenstein Institute. Therefore it is a great joy to be able to give him a permanent memorial with the Otto-Mecheels-Strasse."
