The agreement gives ABS distribution rights for Fujitsu’s latest WT-A522 high-pressure UHF laundry tag and also allows the company to explore ways to develop the UHF RFID market in Europe and the Middle East (EMEA region).
ABS’s subsidiary Textilligence, based in Ravels, Belgium already distributes Fujitsu’s current WT-A511 laundry tag. It will now also be able expand this service by supplying the WT-A522 high-pressure laundry tag to resellers, integrators and end-users in Europe and the Middle East. It will also be able to provide turnkey solutions using Fujitsu RFID systems including UHF tags.
The WT-A522 tag can be read at two metres or more with very high accuracy and is aimed at large laundries that use high volume tunnel washers. It has been tested in tunnel washer lines with high-pressure extraction up to 60bar and Anne de Boer CEO at ABS said that the tag proved exceptionally reliable and durable.
The memorandum was signed at the Belgium Economic Mission to Japan headed by Prince Philippe of Belgium.
