William Orford won the Challenge Cup with a total stableford score of 36 points, playing off a handicap of 18, ahead of Jason Alexander and Joe Malloy.
Steve Park won the Scratch Medal with a score of 79 (handicap 7), while Jason Alexander and Gary Keeley won the Greensomes competition, with a score of 40 points (combined handicap of 19). They each received an engraved tankard and a bottle of Champagne. Last year’s winners Colin Rowe and Peter Simmons were second with 39 points.
Ivan Kerry, the immediate past President of Textile Services Association, presented the prizes and thanked staff at Swinley Forest Golf Club, and Laundry and Cleaning News, which sponsored some of the prizes.
The next golf event is at the Forest of Arden Golf and Country Club, on Friday 27 March 2009 to coincide with the joint industry conference to be held at the Marriott Hotel at Leicester on the weekend of the 28 March 2009.
