Nisbets, the UK supplier of catering and kitchen equipment, has announced the acquisition of Mitre Linen for an undisclosed sum. Mitre will continue to operate as an independent business.
Based in Merthyr Tydfil, Mitre has been making and distributing a range of linen products including bedding and bathroom towelling for hotels, as well as table linen for restaurants for the past 70 years.
Mitre Linen employs around 95 people at its factory warehouse in the Welsh Valleys and supplies quality products to over 50 countries. It already has an established catalogue and online business, along with a strong field sales team. It was granted a Royal Warrant in 1955 and was recently recognised by Hotel Owner magazine as one of their 10 brands to watch in 2016.
Tim Carr, finance director at Nisbets, says the acquisition will benefit Mitre clients and its employees.
